Greetings Vinyl Junkies!

We have had a lot of questions asking how to sell items on DJVA. Below is step by step instructions on how to start selling your unwanted vinyl, CD's, or DJ equpment.

How To Sell on DJ Vinyl Auctions.

Once you have signed up for an account, you will be able to sell items through the site.

Firstly, to help list your items faster, we recommend setting up “pre-Filled Auction fields” To do this click on the “Members” link at the top of the page, then click on “Selling”. In the “Selling” section, click on “Set Up Pre-filled Auction Fields” Here you can fill in your details & they will be automatically filled out each time you list an item.

To begin listing your items, you will have to click on the “Sell” link at the top of the page, you can then select the main category & sub-category of the product you want to sell. No items can be sold by choosing only the main category; you will have to choose a subcategory for it as well. Once you have chosen your category, Click on “Next Step”

The second step is entering the auction details; remember to give as much detail as possible to help sell your item. Make sure you include the condition of your item. Once you have filled in the item description, click on “Next Step”

In Step three you can choose the type of the auction, the start price, whether to activate buy now or set a reserve price. You will also be able to choose what type of bid increment to use, the progressive one implemented into the site, or a custom one. If you choose the custom one, you will have to enter an increment value. You can then choose whether to feature the item on the home page or the category page, or choose bold or highlighted listings, and set the duration of the auction. (Fee’s apply for featured items, bold & highlighted listings) Choose the auction start time, auction duration & weather you want to list it as a private auction, accept swap offers or automatically re-list the item until sold. It is recommended that you include a picture for your item (optional) You may upload 1 image free of charge, but there may be Fee’s for ad

Here you need to fill out Shipping conditions, what payment methods you will accept, Postage Cost, Shipping & payment details & type of service used for shipping. Then carefully read the Terms & Conditions & if you agree to the Terms & Conditions, click “Next Step”

Here you can review the auction before submitting. If everything is in order, click on the “Submit” button, and will be redirected to a confirmation page & your auction will be activated. Any Fee’s due will be added to your account. Accounts will be billed monthly & all Fee’s must be paid within 30 day’s or auctions may be suspended.

During Your Auction

1. Answer questions promptly.

Good customer service and quick response times keep customers happy and encourage them to continue bidding on your current and future auctions. However, if someone asks an inappropriate question, don't answer it. This way it will not show up for others to see.

2. Manage your auctions.

You can easily view all your auctions at any time by clicking on "Members" > "Selling." Track and manage your auctions from this page.

After Your Auction Closes

1. Track your closed auctions.

To track and manage your closed auctions, click on "Members" > "Selling." Then Scroll down to the “Closed Auctions” section.

2. Contact the winning bidder.

You will receive an email automatically when your auction closes with information on the winning bidder. The winning bidder also receives an email automatically with your details. A quick response at the end of the auction is important. Let the winning bidder know right away how to send payment. The sooner you contact your buyer, the sooner you will get paid. This also inspires confidence and may help you earn a good feedback rating.

3. Follow through with great customer service.

There are many ways to build your reputation as a trustworthy seller. When your customer has a great experience, they'll be much more likely to return and buy from you again.

- Include a personalized Thank You note with your logo when you ship the item.

- Stay in touch with your winning bidder - let them know about your future auctions.

- Be sure to rate your winning bidder and remind them to rate you. Potential bidders notice high ratings and will be more inclined to bid on your future auctions.

4. Resubmit your auction if the item doesn't sell.

If your auction item doesn't sell, & you have not chosen to automatically re-list your item, you can re-list it thru the “Members” area. Simply click on "Members" > "Selling" & scroll down to the Closed Auctions section. Check the box next to the auction(s) you want to re-list the click on “Make Changes”. But before you resubmit, evaluate why the auction didn't sell the first time and use these tips to make improvements.

- Lower your starting price. When the bidding starts lower, more people may be drawn to bid, and you could easily end up with a higher closing price.

- Edit the title and item description - be detailed and specific.

- Add photos - people like to see the item they're buying.

- Make sure you've submitted your auction in the most appropriate category. Search for other similar items to see which category they're listed in.

Market Your Auctions

1. Create your own Store.

To create your own store you need to Click on the ‘Members’ link at the top of the page, then click on ‘My Store’. In there the first thing you need to do is click on “Create Store URL” This will create your own personal Store URL. After you have done this you need to check the “yes” box to enable your store. Choose an account Type, then you can Customize the design of your Store page with your own graphics, text, colors, and more. With our easy-to-use tools. Then Click “Save Settings” & your done.

2. Publicize your Store URL.

Every seller has a unique Store URL that lets you view all your auction items on one page. Promote this unique URL to introduce bidders to all of your auctions. Here's what it looks like: http://www.djvinylauctions.com/auction/shops/your_user_id_here

- Promote your Store URL across the Net - link to it from your other auction item pages, on your personal or business web site, or on appropriate message boards, forums, and groups.

- Email your past customers with your auction URL or include it in your email signature.

- Encourage your customers to set up a "seller alert" for your User ID on the Auction Watch page in the Members area. Once they sign up for this notification service they'll automatically receive an email whenever you submit an auction.

- Promote your auctions offline with flyers, newspaper ads, and newsletter mailings.

If you have any questions about Selling your items on DJ Vinyl Auctions, please contact support@djvinylauction.com.au & we will be happy to assist in any way we can.

Cheers, DJVA Admin.
